Han-Chieh Chao is a Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering. He is also serving as the director of the University Computer & IT Center at National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan, R.O.C. His research interests include High Speed Networks, Wireless Networks and IPv6 based Networks and Applications. He received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1989 and 1993 respectively. He has authored or co-authored 3 books and has published about 110 refereed professional research papers. He has completed 23 MSEE theses students. Dr. Chao has received many research awards, including Purdue University SRC awards, and NSC research awards (National Science Council of Taiwan). He also received many funded research grants from NSC, Ministry of Education (MOE), Industrial Technology of Research Institute, Institute of Information Industry, Chunghwa Telecommunications Lab and FarEasTone Telecommunications Lab. Dr. Chao has been invited frequently to give talks at national and international conferences and research organizations. Dr. Chao is also serving as an IPv6 Steering Committee member and Deputy Director of R&D division of the NICI (National Information and Communication Initiative, a ministry level government agency which aims to integrate domestic IT and Telecom projects of Taiwan), Co-chair of the Technical Area for IPv6 Forum Taiwan. He has been serving as a referee for IEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia and IEEE Internet Computing. He is the executive editor of the Journal of Internet Technology (http://jit.ndhu.edu.tw). He also has served as the Guest Editor of Journal on Special Topics in Mobile Networking and Applications - Mobile Networking through IP, Feature Topic Editor of the IEEE Communications Magazine, IPv6 - The basis for the next generation Internet, Corresponding Guest Editor of the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications - WIRELESS OVERLAY NETWORKS BASED ON MOBILE IPv6.

Gopi Krishna Garge is an Electrical Engineering graduate from the Bangalore University, 1984.
In 1987, drawn by the mystique of computers and communications, he completed a certificate PG course in Computer Science and Engg. at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Since, he worked at the ERNET project, ECE Department, IISc in setting up the regional network of the ERNET in and around Bangalore.

During 1994 - 1996, he was one of the first educators of Computer Networking and Network Management in Bangalore and the Metros through Technology Seminars. He has conducted and spoken at such seminars both in India and abroad.

He is regarded as the local Internet Guru in the Internet circles esp., in the South East Asian Internet community due to his early involvement in the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) and other AP wide Internet initiatives.

Passionate about Open Source Software (OSS) and both the free software as well as the OSS movements, he doesn't loose a chance to advocate the use of such software or demonstrate their functional use in specific contexts. He is currently an investigator of a DIT funded project on Reuse of Open Source Software for building commercial products: The impact of copyrights, licenses and Intellectual Property.

He is a member of the Indian IPv6 Task Force. As the VP of the IPv6 Forum India, he is responsible for liaison with the government as well as with the academia on the directions relating to the adoption and use of IPv6 in India.

Gopi is a Senior Consultant at Exocore Consulting (P) Limited and a Network Services Consultant to the ERNET, IISc. Core areas of expertise include Enterprise Internetworking, Messaging Systems, Linux based enterprise solutions and Systems Integration and Performance Tuning.

He is a Technical reviewer for the IETE and has reviewed papers for the ACM Transactions. He writes technical articles for PC-Quest and consults for some leading financial institutions in India.

Gopi's spare time (huh ? ) is reserved for playing with his son, music - Indian Classical, Western Blues, Jazz and folk music from across the world - and beer !

Keiichi IMAI received his B.S. and M.S degrees in communication engineering from Osaka University in 1979 and 1981. He joined NEC Corporation in 1981. He has been engaged software development of electronic switching system and data switching system.
Since 1995, he has been engaged planning and promotion of Internet business. Especially since 1996, he has promoted IPv6 business as a leader of IPv6 promotion team in NEC, and has been engaged marketing and sales promotion of IPv6 routers. Now, he is a member of Business Development Division and promoting IPv6 solutions.

Mr. KIM was educated at KwangWoon University, Seoul, in Computer Science B.A., 1982 and M.A., 1984, respectively. And he has been studying his Ph.D. degree in the field of Computer Science at ChungNam National University, since 2001.
He joined ETRI in 1988, and he is currently in charge of Team leader of NGI Standards Research Team as a Principal Researcher of ETRI. He has 16 years research experience in various divisions of ETRI including Telecommunication Systems Division, Information & Telecommunications Technology Division, etc.
At present, Mr. Hyoungjun KIM is in charge of Director of IPv6 Forum Korea and Chairman of IPv6 Study Group of Telecommunication Technology Association (TTA) of Korea.
Since the year, 2002, he has been participating in IPv6 related projects such as IPv6 based Auto-configuration Standards Research and the development of IPv4/IPv6 Transition Mechanism. He has much concern about IPv6 transition mechanism and IPv6 high-featured advanced protocols.

He received the B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from the Yonse University, Seoul, Korea, in 1985. He received the M.S. and Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(KAIST), Taejon, Korea, in 1987 and 1997 respectively. Since 1987, he has been with the Korea Telecom R&D Group. He is now a principle member of technical staff in KT Technology Laboratory. His research interests are in Next Generation Internet, IP QoS, IPv6(Internet Protocol version 6), etc.

Pyung-Soo Kim is currently with Digital Media R&D Center at Samsung Electronics, Korea.
He is now responsible for implementing new technologies for mobile communications, such as Mobile IPv6, Fast Handover Service, SIPv6 based VoIP, etc, as project leader.
Currently, he is also working for the chair of working group of "Home Network & Information Appliance in IPv6 Forum Korea". He received the M.S. degree and the Ph.D. degree in School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Seoul National University in 1996 and 2001, respectively.
He main research interests are in the areas of wireless mobile communications, internet protocol design, statistical signal processing, and industrial applications.

Dr. Mohamed bin Awang Lah is the Chief Executive Officer of JARING, a strategic business unit of MIMOS Berhad.

Dr. Mohamed has over 19 years of experience in Internet technology and industry. In 1986, he initiated the first computer network in Malaysia with international connectivity. The network became the foundation for the first nationwide Internet network called JARING, which started its services in late 1992.

Dr. Mohamed plays a key role in conceptualising, implementing and expanding JARING's networks and services to cater to constantly evolving applications and growing number of users since its inception. Under his current leadership, JARING is growing from a pure Internet Service Provider (ISP) to a total Internet solution provider.

Dr. Mohamed is also instrumental in designing and developing JARING's Biz-On-Net strategy, which aims to assist corporations to utilize the power of the Internet to strengthen their business operations.

Prior to joining MIMOS in late 1984 as the Director of Computer Systems, he was a lecturer and a Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya. When MIMOS was corporatised in November 1996, Dr Mohamed was given the responsibility as the Vice-President for Government Business Sector. In 2000, he became the Senior Vice-President for Research and Development.

Dr Mohamed has been spearheading Open Systems (now Open Source) and Network Security initiatives over the last two decades at both MIMOS and national levels. A number of commercial products have been produced as the results of these initiatives. Dr Mohamed is now focusing his attention to the Next Generation Internet initiative in anticipation of new requirements over the next decade.

Dr. Mohamed obtained a First Class (Honours) in Electronic Engineering and then read for a Doctorate at King's College, University of London.

Jaeho Lee

From the beginning of the NGI Project in NCA, 2000, Jaeho Lee has played an important role of planning as well as executing the IPv6 project. He built the first Korean IPv6 IX, 6NGIX(IPv6 Next Generation Internet eXchange) as well as 6KANet(IPv6 Korea Advaced Network) access network. With establishing national IPv6 basic infrastructure, finding and deploying IPv6 Killer applications has become key subjects, such as P2Pv6, VoIPv6, WebCamerav6, IPv6 showroom, etc. He also has been a key member of supporting MIC(Ministry of Information and Commnunication) IPv6 national policies since 2000. MIC announced the IPv6 adoption policiy in 2001 and IPv6 promotion policy in 2003. Now he is a project manager of NCA NGI-IPv6 Project.

Hong-Ren Lo works for HiNet. HiNet, one of the Internet service providers in Taiwan, is operated by Data Communication Business Group of Chunghuwa Telecom. He's working in HiNet network team and is in charge of the operation and construction of the backbone network. He is currently working on the implementation of MPLS and IPv6 in the backbone network. Hong-Ren Lo worked at Telecommunication Laboratory of Chunghwa Telecom. He attended the Broadband ATM Service project and designed the data service module in this system. He received his master degree of Electrical Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Toru Maruta is a network engineer at KDDI Corporation (one of the biggest ISP in Japan). His current work is development and deployment of IPv6-based networks and applications. He lead KDDI's IPv6 application trial project in 2003.
He received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Master of Engineering in Electronic Engineering from the University of Tokyo.

He also teaches at Tokyo University of Art and Music. Specialized in computer science, computer network and computer communication.

Dr.PARK was educated at Seoul National University, in the Rep. of Korea, where he obtained a first class honours degree of B.A. in 1982 and M.A. in 1984. And he got Ph.D. degree in the field of Telecommunications Policy in 1995. Recently, he got his another PhD. Degree in Computer Science at Paichai University in 2004.
He joined ETRI in 1984, and he is currently in charge of Vice-President of IT Services Research Division as a Principal Researcher of ETRI. He has 20 years research experience in various divisions of ETRI including Telecommunication Systems Division, Information & Telecommunications Technology Division, etc.
At present, Dr. Kishik PARK is a Vice-Chairman of ITU-T TSAG and Chairman of WP3/ TSAG, and an Advisory Board Member of ASTAP/APT. He is also serving as President of IPv6 Forum Korea, Vice-Chairman of Technical Assembly of Telecommunication Technology Association(TTA) of Korea, and Manager of W3C Korea office, etc.

Dr. Sureswaran Ramadess

Dr. Sureswaran Ramadass is Program Chairman for Systems and Head of Network Research, School of Computer Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He also lectures in the field of Data Communications and Computer Networks.

He is Head of APAN Malaysia (Asia Pacific Advanced Networks). APAN is a high bandwidth ATM network that will interconnect the Asia Pacific Countries. He has also been appointed as Head of the Multimedia SWG for APAN. The Multimedia SWG has already started on numerous ambitious projects, including the incorporation of a multipoint multimedia conferencing system that will support the APAN network.

He has also been appointed as the Head of the AI3 Malaysia (Asian Internet Interconnections Initiative). This project is part of the Japanese WIDE Project and involves the setting up and commissioning of an earth station which will then be used for communications and Internet experiments with the other AI3 partners, including Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Cambodia, Philippines and Laos. The Malaysian part of this project is currently funded by IRPA.

TEMAN is a ATM Multimedia test-bed network that will link most of the Universities and Telecommunication Research facilities throughout the country. Dr. Ramadass is the head of the TEMAN Project for USM. USM's has its specific research roles within this project and is funded by grants from MIMOS and IRPA.

Dr. Ramadass is one of the 18 finalists for the ICANN at large Directorship, year 2000. ICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, and is the organization in charge of coordinating Internet related matters for the entire world.

Also have submitted an IETF draft on Host Name Auto-registration procedure for IPv6 nodes.

Hiroaki SADATA is Director of the IPv6 Project at NTT Communications Corporation. He leads planning of IPv6 strategy and developing of IPv6 solutions within the Project.

He is also a staff member of the IPv6 Promotion Council of Japan. He serves on several national projects and is involved in the coordination of numerous trials in relation to IPv6 deployment, IPv6 network appliances and asia broadband.

James Seng

James Seng is one of the Internet pioneers in Singapore. He started working at Technet (the only ISP in Singapore) since 1993 when he was an undergraduate at the National University of Singapore. This was then spun-out to become Pacific Internet that later had a post-IPO market cap of $1B USD on Nasdaq in 1999.

He has also developed various Internet products and software, such as (a) PObox 1995 - a web-based email and forwarding service which has been licensed and commercialized by Singapore Press Holdings now known as PostOne, (b) Singapore InfoMAP 1994 - the official Website for Singapore which is later taken over by National Computer Board (Singapore) now operated by Infocomm Development Authority (IDA of Singapore, (c) StockNET 1993 - an online stock-trading system and (d) Heroes of the Lance 1993 ? a multiplayer role playing online game which currently operating with support from Pacific Gaming Network. His first company spice.com Pte Ltd was started in 1995 have deals with NEC Singapore, Cyberway (now known as Starhub Internet) & the Singapore Ministry of Defense.

After completing his Bachelors in Information technology from Australian National University in late 1998, he joined BioInformatix Pte Ltd, a spin-off from National University of Singapore, to be the Vice President and chief architect of its iDNS project. This project was later spin-off as an independent company i-DNS.net with a total $24M USD investment from General Altantic Partners and Network Solutions/Verisign.

In his former capacity as Chief Technology Officer of i-DNS.net, James is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s flagship product, Internationalized Domain Name System (iDNS). As one of the founding members of i-DNS.net International, James has played a key role in the all aspect of the company, from development of the technology, direct its capabilities and implementation, to business development and International Affairs. He is recognized as an international industry expert in the Internet arena, and actively participates at Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and chairing the working group that standardized internationalized domain names.

Currently, James is the Assistant Director in Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore. His team is responsible for tracking Next Generation Internet, E-Payment and Information Exchange technologies.

Kazu YAMAMOTO is a researcher of Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ), Inc.
He is also a Board Member of the WIDE Project and the technical leader of the KAME Project. He has been engaged in IPv6 activities since 1995, including development of IPv6 code on the BSD variants,
standardization of IPv6 protocol suite in IETF, IPv6 Summit in Japan, IPv6 ShowCase N+I Tokyo, etc.
